Presidential thoughts...

Not many to share, but here goes....

Belief is my number one strength in the Strengths Finder test. That said, I've always been a die-hard patriot and never missed a vote. Even the little local ones!

However, that may change in the realm of presidential elections this year. I'm not interested in either candidate! One is a lifetime congressman---yeah, I'd trust him! The other, well, what can I say? There are a litany of reasons I wouldn't vote for him let alone the fact that his entire name is anti-American! What will I do? Should I write in someone? I'm thinking Anne Coulter, maybe? Yeah, I'm sure she'd give congress a run for their money! Go Anne!

I'm right there with you on this one, Bethany. I have to register Kylie to vote for the first time, and I hate to have her vote in this election as her first! I got to vote for Reagan on my first time out...how about you?

So sad for the first time voters this time around....yes, I, too, got to vote for Reagan (2nd term) and that was sooo cool!

hmmm, interesting. I can't vote. Wish I could. I wonder how many people are thinking the same about abstaining this year. I've heard a lot of people say they don't know if they will or not.

And what now do we do with Romans 13:1-2? As Americans, it's relatively easy for you to have held to that scripture generally speaking. For someone who comes from a country that is far more liberal, and a lot less God honoring, I've had a tough time reconciling it.

So what now?

I understand your frustration. I am in the same boat. Until I had someone tell me that the next president could appoint up to 4 Supreme Court Justices during his term. Scary.

With that fact alone we have to look at the bigger picture and to the future. Those justices will be on the Court long after the President has moved on. I can't take the chance that someone as liberal as Obama will appoint judges to the court. Could you imagine what will happen to marriage alone.

So, even though our choices are not as we would like them to be; we do need to pray and vote. The consequence is far to great if we don't. If we all stay home we will be in BIG trouble. Just a thought.

If we stay home or write in someone who doesn't have a chance, we may as well be voting for Obama. I am going to hold my nose and vote for McCain. Obama's changes to taxes will cost us all dearly, not to mention his other liberal agendas.

I think we need to come out and vote now more than ever! McCain needs every Christian Conservative vote to beat Obama!

Wow! That prompted some great input! Jody--I love the thought of "holding my nose" as I vote for McCain!
